Shih Hsuan(Alvin) Lo is an independent interior designer based between New York and Taipei. Recently graduated with an MFA in Interior Design from Pratt Institute, following an undergraduate background in English Literature.

His work has been featured in Vogue Taiwan and shortlisted in a Buildner design competition. Alongside his academic and professional experience, Alvin has also completed his own realized design project in Taiwan, developing the work from concept to execution.

His design approach is rooted in minimal, clean, and refined spatial expression, with a strong focus on atmosphere, materiality, and detail. For Alvin, design is not only about form and function, but also about creating spaces that carry imagery, emotion, and narrative. Shaped by his background in literature, he is especially interested in how interiors can tell stories through proportion, light, texture, and spatial experience.

Frequently traveling to study architecture, interiors, and urban atmospheres, Alvin also uses photography as a way to observe and document space. These experiences continue to shape his design language and his sensitivity toward the relationship between people, memory, and the built environment.
